Giving Yourself and Your Child a Better Tomorrow

Hello and welcome to my website. I am Dr. Sue, a mother, psychologist,
professor and National parenting expert in childhood TRAUMA. I have made it
my life's passion to help traumatized children become confident  successful individuals.

As parents, we sometimes do not know where to turn when our child becomes
traumatized. We want to take away our child's pain but we are not always sure which path to follow.

If you have a child that has suffered from trauma and you find yourself asking, "How could this happen to my child?" or "How will I get myself, family and child through this terrible time?" You are in the right place.

When tragedy strikes it can shatter your and your children's world. As a parent, you may begin to  see a different child than you once knew. He or she begins to withdraw, act out and struggle with self esteem.  These are all common responses when a child is hurting.

Trauma does not only affect a child. It often affects the whole family system.  I am here to help you "Move Beyond the Trauma."  I know that sometimes, what is happening in the moment seems like it will be that way forever.  Please know that time does heal and that children can move forward from trauma and lead very successful lives.

Warmly,
Dr. Sue

Testimonials

Dr. Sue changed my life. I was a kid in the foster care system who was just going to be a product of my past. Dr. Sue helped me to see that I was more than what my family thought of me. She made me see I was a person who had dreams, feelings and a future. I was afraid to love. Now I am happy to live.  Thank you Dr. Sue for giving me a chance and a life.(Nyleen, Survivor of  the Foster Care System,  Age 28)
There is something I need to tell you today Dr. Sue. You have helped me heal. Well not mine but really my family's life. I have been reading all of your articles on adoption and I just new I had to talk to my daughter about her birth  parents. I just never knew the words. Dr. Sue you gave me the "words" the
"courage" and the strength to talk to my daughter. We are closer than ever. I
hope that other people are reading your stuff too. You are so kind and compassionate. Thank you! (Barbara 37, Adoptive Parent)
I felt so helpless until I stated working with you. My husband left we without a dime and stole my kids from me for no reason. I went to so many therapists, nothing helped. Then I found you. You empowered me to believe in me again. You helped me fight for my kids and my life. When I called you answered.  All divorce women and men for that fact should have your amazing help. So many of us feel powerless to make change. We don't know where to go for help. You give us hope that the fight is not over.  I am truly grateful to you Dr. Sue.  (Karen 48, Divorced Mom who now has partial custody of her children)
